Dr. Sabrina Gunn was born and raised in the Montgomery, Alabama area. Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Gunn enjoyed teaching 8th grade physical science and middle school math. After some time, she decided to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a physician and was accepted into Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She received her medical degree in 2015. From there, she pursued training in the specialty of psychiatry and completed her medical training at the Grandview/Chillicothe VAMC Psychiatry Residency program in 2019 . Her passion is increasing mental health awareness and advocating for minorities who are often misrepresented in the mental health arena. With her teaching background, she is a firm believer that educating patients about mental health empowers them and aids in their individual healing process. As an osteopath, she has been heavily trained that mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health are all connected. She treats patients who are dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and psychosis.
